Kairos: ChronoTrack’s Most Flexible Timing Solution Yet

ChronoTrack is proud to introduce Kairos, our revolutionary new timing system that delivers unprecedented flexibility, performance, and simplicity. Named for the Greek concept meaning “the perfect, crucial moment,” Kairos represents a significant evolution in race timing technology.

The Ecosystem Approach

Kairos introduces a modular ecosystem of components that can be assembled in multiple configurations to perfectly match your event requirements:

• Kairos 4: Our core controller featuring 4 antenna ports and built around the advanced Impinj R700 series RFID reader
• Ry-PoE: Innovative Power over Ethernet power adapter for Ryobi batteries
• Kairos Connector: Universal tri-prong twist-lock mounting system
• Battery Rack: For expanded power capacity and simplified deployment
• Kairos Stand: For streamlined single-unit deployment

Configuration Sample One

This configuration is ideal for larger events, wider courses, and high-density participant flows. Comparable to the current ChronoTrack Pro2 timing system controller.

Components:

• 2 × Kairos 4 controllers
  • 1 × Kairos connector linking both Kairos 4s
• 1 × Battery Rack
  • The paired Kairos controllers slide and latch on top
• 6 × Ry-PoE power adapter
  • Loaded on the battery rack by Kairos Connector

• Total antenna ports: 8
• Approximately 12 hours runtime with standard (4Ah) batteries
• Significantly lighter than comparable systems
• Flexible battery configuration

Configuration Sample Two

This configuration is ideal for split locations, smaller events, or paired with our FlashPoint antennas. Comparable to the current ChronoTrack MiniTrack timing system controller.

Components:

• 1 × Kairos 4 controller
• 1 × Kairos Stand
  • Allows for the Kairos 4 to be directly mounted to the stand using a Kairos Connector
• Pair of Ry-PoE power adapters
  • Additionally, the Kairos connectors on the bottom of the Kairos 4 allow these to be directly connected to the bottom

Specifications:

• Total antenna ports: 4
• Approximately 8 hours runtime with standard (4Ah) batteries
• Ultra-portable design weighing just 8 lbs (3.6 kg) before batteries
• Quick setup for versatile deployment

Power Of Adaptability

One key benefit of Kairos lies in its adaptability. The primary features supporting this are the Kairos Connector and the Ry-PoE.

The Kairos 4 is designed with three Kairos connectors on top and bottom so that it can be easily attached to and combined with other components. One additional deployment example here would be attaching the Kairos 4 to a FlashPoint tripod or existing finish line structure with a clamp that has a Kairos Connect attached to it. Each component of the Kairos ecosystem is designed with Kairos connectors so that Timers can deploy timing systems in the manner they see fit.

The Ry-PoE provides adaptability when it comes to powering Kairos. We’ve designed the Ry-PoE so that it allows the timer to determine exactly how many batteries they want to deploy to provide appropriate operational time for their events. These devices can be linked in series and Kairos will first drain the battery from the device furthest in series. Utilizing PoE also allows Timers to easily integrate AC power with a standard AC PoE injector at the opposite end.
